Procedures: Project Plans
The Procedures page lists all procedures associated with the project plan. Each procedure listed results in an associated work order once the project plan is generated. Options on this page allow you to add or remove procedures from the project plan and define the dependencies between any listed procedures.
Procedures are integral to each Project Plan as they are used to define the work orders that will be generated, along with any defined dependencies. Although procedures can be added on the fly, it is recommended that procedures intended for use in the plan be created prior to setting up the plan.
The following fields are displayed in the Procedures tab:
-
ID/ Name: The ID and Name of each procedure that has been associated with this project plan.
-
Asset: The name of any asset specifically associated with this procedure.
When the project plan is generated, each work order will be tied to a defined asset. If the asset for a defined procedure is left blank, the generated work order will be associated with the default asset for the project. If a specific asset is defined, the generated work order will be tied to that asset.
-
Dependent on Sequences and Auto Issue Dependency: Any defined dependencies for the generated work order. The sequences defined in the Dependent on Sequences field must reach the status defined in the Auto-Issue when Dependencies are field before the work orders for this sequence can be issued.
-
Click Add.
The Procedure module lookup opens, allowing you to select one or more procedures.
-
Click the procedure you want to add.
The Procedures window opens.
-
Select the sequence for this procedure from the Sequence field.
The sequence determines the order in which work orders will be generated and is important for identifying any dependencies. There should be a unique sequence number for each procedure listed on the Project Plan Procedures page.
-
Select a specific asset that should be tied to the work order generated for this procedure from the Asset lookup.
It is not necessary to specify an asset if this procedure will be tied to the default asset identified when generating the project.
-
Enter the sequence number of any procedure on which the issuance of this work order should be based in the Dependencies field.
This means if the work order generated from the Sequence 4 procedure must be complete before the Sequence 5 work order is issued, then 4 would be listed in the Dependencies field for Sequence 5. If there is more than one work order dependency, all sequence numbers should be listed and be separated by commas.
-
Specify the status that the work orders this work order depends on must have before this work order can be issued in the Auto-Issue when Dependencies are field.
For example, do the work orders need to be Complete, Finalized, or Closed before this work order is issued?
